Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community, and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds.
This is an unpaid Internship program for graduate students who are fulfilling the academic requirements of a licensure-track Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or equivalent. MassBay's Internship program fulfills the requirement for pre-Master's clinical experience and supervision for the LMHC license in Massachusetts. MassBay will pay a stipend of $1500 per semester to help cover travel costs for this internship.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide clinical mental health assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, and referrals for student-clients;
- Document confidential student-client information in an electronic health record;
- Participate in campus outreach, educational programming, and screenings;
- Provide consultation to faculty, staff, and parents on student mental health needs;
- Attend and contribute to individual supervision meetings, weekly team/group supervision meetings, and peer supervision meetings;
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree;
- Enrollment in an accredited graduate degree program in Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or equivalent with a signed learning contract for Internship;
- Available to work twenty (20) to twenty-four (24) hours per week for a full academic year (August to May).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action;
- Demonstrates commitment to working with students in need;
- Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
