Job Overview:
Care staff are the backbone of the organization and the first, last, and most frequent point of contact with residents each day. The med tech assists the resident in maintaining their independence and quality of life by performing tasks and duties to support the resident’s physical and psychological health. Additionally, our care staff promotes the Adara Oaks culture by fostering resident engagement and belonging, encouraging individual choice, and creating opportunities where residents can experience purpose and self-fulfillment. Care staff must have strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and an empathetic understanding of the resident and their history and strengths. The person in this role must be people-oriented, self-directed, and a builder of authentic relationships.
Requirements
Job Responsibilities (not limited to):
Deliver prescribed treatments as outlined in the Medication Administration Record (MAR)
Deliver medications in a way that provides respect and dignity
Maintain patient stability by monitoring vital signs and weight, testing urine, recording intake and output information, and providing first aid wound care as needed
Accept and accurately perform delegated nursing tasks
Communicate with outside health care professionals in a professional manner
Maintain current resident record for each resident, including but not limited to obtaining current physician orders, clarifying orders, and alert and monthly charting
Document events such as doctors' appointments, medication changes, etc.
Maintain, transcribe, and document in the MAR according to policy and procedure
Deliver services and assist with Activities of Daily Life (ADLs) as outlined in a resident's Service Plan (SP) with respect, empathy, competence, and encouragement throughout the resident's day.
Understand and follow each residents Service Plan
Assist with ADLs such as dressing, showering, toileting, incontinence care, eating, and grooming
Job Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Medication tech experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Value and respect of elders.
Strong desire to work with seniors.
Speak, read, and write English.
Excellent oral communication.
Good reading comprehension skills.
Good written communication with the ability to correspond and document properly in charts and the portal.
Able to turn and move individuals who require assistance.
Able to stay on feet and remain active throughout the shift.
Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and squat often throughout the shift.
50-pound lifting requirement.
