Harvard UniversityPosition Details TitlePostdoctoral Fellow in Brain and Cognitive AgingSchoolFaculty of Arts and SciencesDepartment/AreaPsychologyPosition DescriptionProfessor Randy Buckner and the Buckner lab in the Department of Psychology and Center for Brain Science at Harvard University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in Brain and Cognitive Aging. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be involved in studies of brain aging and maintenance, and their relevance to cognitive decline and resilience. Anchoring deep individualized phenotyping, the work will involve a combination of brain imaging, biomarker assessment, and ambulatory behavioral assessments to precisely track brain and cognitive change over short intervals. The program of research seeks to understand individual differences in aging trajectories and to develop approaches to predict and monitor effects of interventions. The position will be in-person and utilize the local scanning facilities adjacent to the Buckner Laboratory within the Center for Brain Science, as well as facilities at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. Responsibilities: 1. Conduct research in brain and cognitive aging.2. Publish and present research findings in high-quality scientific journals and conferences.3. Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and students on interdisciplinary research projects.4. Contribute to the preparation of research proposals.5. Participate in mentoring activities for undergraduate and graduate students. This is a one-year term position with possibility of renewal dependent upon job performance and continued availability of funding.Basic QualificationsPh.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field. - Demonstrated record of research achievement and experience in the collection and analysis of brain imaging data.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience focused on brain or cognitive aging.
